Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (ADP GHQ), represented by the Medical Services Department affiliated to the General Directorate of Finance and Services, concluded the ‘Your Health in Ramadan’ awareness and education campaign concerning diabetes and asthma.

The campaign included educational tours for police members in a number of buildings affiliated to the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the ADP. It highlighted health awareness promotion through initial medical tests. The diabetes and asthma patients were familiarized with the balanced diet necessary to consume during Ramadan, in order to avoid any negative impact as a result of nutritional shortage or over-indulgence. Media publications were also distributed and included tips and advice to help patients, which explained the healthy diet for diabetics during Ramadan.

Ramadan Work Hours Announced

The Ministry of Interior called upon the public to abide by the general safety requirements while driving vehicles; to observe the designated legal speed limits; to avoid speeding as Iftar approaches during Ramadan, and to follow the relevant parties’ recommendations and instructions for setting up tents. While patrolling one of the capital's streets, the Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) confiscated more than 38 kilograms of hashish found concealed in coffee bags hidden in the trunk of a vehicle driven by a young Gulf man, accompanied with a girl (of the same nationality.)

The ADP carried out security procedures in confiscating the drugs. The suspect was arrested immediately after the permit approval was issued by the public prosecution, so that the Anti-Narcotic officers could arrest him and carry out a personal inspection, after having followed him and monitored his suspicious movements with a nearby security patrol.
