Vehicles of ADP Staff Members to Undergo Environmentally Friendly Maintenance

According to MoU with Emirates Transport

The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and Emirates Transport signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on delivering environmentally-friendly maintenance services to vehicles used by Abu Dhabi Police staff members at selected stations across Abu Dhabi.

The MoU was signed at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ by Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services, and by Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, General Manager of Emirates Transport.

“This agreement is in response to the instructions of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to enhance cooperation and collaboration with government entities, in order to achieve the coveted aspirations,” said Major General Badran. He also praised the leading role of Emirates Transport in serving the society based on the most advanced standards.

Major General Badran added, “According to the MoU, Emirate Transport will provide environmentally-friendly maintenance services and dry washing to vehicles used by the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, using high-end techniques.” Both parties agreed to provide sustainable environmentally-friendly maintenance services at the various Emirates Transport service centers, as well as to exchange consultancy and technical advice regarding vehicles’ maintenance and to provide experienced and highly professional staff with extensive knowledge of maintenance and dry washing techniques

Major General Badran indicated that Abu Dhabi Police is committed to environment protection; praising  the United Arab Emirates’ keenness to enact environmental protection legislations and sign relevant international conventions in this regard.

Adding further, Major General Badran stated, “The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ was one of the first institutions to acquire the Integrated Management Systems (IMS) Certification, which includes the ISO 9001:2008 International Standard for Quality Management , the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System standard , as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Standard OHSAS 18001: 2007. These certifications were granted to the Finance and Services Directorate General at Abu Dhabi Police. Moreover, and as part of its efforts to reduce pollution and maintain a clean environment, the Abu Dhabi Police converted a significant number of their police cars to environmentally friendly compressed natural gas (CNG) .” He also highlighted the Abu Dhabi Police efforts to reduce electricity consumption, as well as their green applications initiatives.

This MoU allows providing additional service centers in Al Ain and the Western Region in the next phase of the project; as well as including additional environmentally-friendly maintenance and carwash services across the various Emirates Transport stations.

Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, General Manager of Emirates Transport hailed the MoU and said, “We are keen to reinforce mutual cooperation and expand this strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Police. This  deep-rooted partnership, which dates back more than three decades will further expand in the future towards more varied and comprehensive horizons, in line with the growing progress and renaissance witnessed by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi across different fields.”

“Under the agreement, we will e organizing and setting suitable work mechanisms to provide maintenance and carwash services, based on the regulations and procedures applicable by both sides. This would contribute to the provison of the required services, based on the international standards of quality, sustainability and environment protection,” Al Jarman added.

Furthermore, Al Jarman noted that the MoU represents a new milestone in developing maintenance services provided to the Abu Dhabi Police vehicle fleet via ET service centers across Abu Dhabi. “The MoU further supports our commitment to social responsibility and sustainable practices to protect both the environment and society. We will be cooperating to provide maintenance and dry wash services to the Abu Dhabi Police vehicles, utilizing innovative and environmentally-friendly methods through PROFIX stations, which are managed by Abu Dhabi Center for Auto Services at Qasr Al Bahar and near Khalifa Park, in Abu Dhabi.”

Al Jarman stressed the commitment of Emirates Transport to put all of its resources and expertise for the benefit of Abu Dhabi Police, with its team of highly qualified specialists and professionals.  “Our team of experts will provide fast and efficient support to ADP staff members’ requirements, servicing their vehicles at our designated stations and contacting them once the service is complete,” Al Jarman continued.

The signing ceremony was attended by Maher Al Sayyed Al Rifai, Director of the Abu Dhabi Center for Auto Services and Saeed Moussa, Chief of the Media Communications Section, on behalf of the Emirates Transport, and by Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Al Shebli, Deputy Head of Transport and Workshops Department at the Directorate General of Finance and Services, on behalf of Abu Dhabi Police.
