The 31st Unified GCC Traffic Week held under the slogan “Your Choice Determines Your Destiny” kicked off today in the Al Ain Mall, in the city of Al Ain.

The opening ceremony was attended by Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Amimi, Director of the Al Ain Police Directorate; Colonel Mohammed Suhail Al Rashidi, Deputy Director of the Al Ain Police Directorate; Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Bloushi Head of Peripheral Regions Traffic Department at Abu Dhabi Police; and Lt. Following the speech, poet Abdullah Al Al Ka’bi, Traffic Safety Ambassador, recited a poem, and a female student from the Sheikha bint Suroor School sang a song about the true meaning of this week’s slogan. Another group of female students from the Al Ata’a School performed an awareness play on the occasion, and also sang a song about traffic.

The sponsor of the ceremony then honored Traffic Safety Ambassadors, and Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Bloushi presented a commemorative shield to the ceremony sponsor.

The ceremony sponsor toured  and reviewed the awareness exhibition pavilions for: Ministry of Interior e-services; Emirates Driving Company; Residency and Foreigners Affairs General Directorate in Al Ain; Police Follow-up Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Al Ain Police Directorate; Traffic Black Points Reduction Program; Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company; Emirates Transport;  Red Crescent; Community Police; Ambulance and Rescue Section; and SAAED Traffic Systems Company.
