ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, March 11th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

Abu Dhabi Police recently arrested a Gulf national in violation of the Residency Law for possession with intent to sell 15 kg of marijuana (hashish) in the city of Al Ain. The arrest was carried out as the sun set - hence the operation has been deemed the “Operation Sunset”.

Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammad Borshid, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), indicated that the Anti-Drug Section in Al Ain had received confidential information regarding the suspect`s possession of a large amount of drugs that he was planning to sell. A woman disguised in an abaya, the black robe which thus branded her as the ‘ghost’, attempted to rob a money exchange center in Abu Dhabi after threatening employees with what turned out to be a fake plastic gun.
