MoI Launches Juveniles’ Awareness Program for the year 2015

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Monday, February 23rd 2015 [ME NewsWire]

The Ministry of Interior (MoI), represented by the Law Respect Culture Bureau, launched the juveniles’ awareness program for the year 2015, in coordination with the Juveniles Care Center at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.

Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Salah Obeid Al Ghoul, Director of Law Respect Culture Bureau, indicated that the program aims at instilling the law respect culture among juveniles and their parents. “It also aims at acquainting juveniles and their parents with the law respect culture, so as to be aware of their rights, obligations, and the good manners that every individual must have, in addition to good habits and proper behaviors needed to succeed in society,” he said.

He added: “The awareness-raising program for juveniles is a specialized program designed for the sake of a specific segment of society. It aims at raising the level of legal and social culture among the juveniles’ category and their parents.”

Moreover, he noted that the program includes a series of legal and social awareness lectures; in addition to a number of workshops that target the juveniles’ category.

Furthermore, he indicated that the program focuses on juveniles’ parents and sheds the light on their positive and effective role and its significant impact on children’s behavior. “The program is also intended for individuals working at the Juveniles Care Center, for their valuable role in providing guidance and care for juveniles during their stay at the center,” added Lt. Colonel Al Ghoul.

In conclusion, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Salah Al Ghoul said: “The educational lectures and workshops will be organized throughout the year and will cover a range of topics and themes such as the Law Respect Culture, legal highlights, and means to avoid violations.”

For his part, Captain Hamdan Al Hafiti, Chief of the Community Education Section at the Law Respect Culture Bureau, indicated that the programs aims at enhancing the protection of young people from negative behaviors and their harmful impact on their future, as well as on the security and stability of society. He noted that the program has already commenced with two awareness lectures delivered by Captain Abdullah Nasser Al Dahmani, Coordination and Follow-up Branch Manager at the Law Respect Culture Bureau. “The first lecture tackled the law respect culture and targeted staff members at the Juveniles’ Care Center. The second lecture was intended for the juveniles’ category and their parents, and was titled ‘Parents and children … Rights and Obligations’,” he said.
