Armed Forces and Police Sports Association Cooperate in Sports

MoU Allows Both Parties to Exchange Expertise

The Police Sports Association and the Armed Forces General Command (Military Education Center) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to improve sports sector and exchange expertise.

HE Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Police Sports Association, who attended the signing ceremony, said: “It is very important to promote the efforts of sports institutions to improve this sector, which reflects positively on athletes and reflects the vision of the higher leadership.”

He added: “This MoU comes in line with the strategy of the police general headquarters to achieve a qualitative transformation and open up to all society institutions, following the meaningful policies and regulations of Police Sports Association, in order to connect with different society sectors.”

Al Rumaithi explained: “The Police Sports Association is keen to see this agreement representing a fruitful cooperation between both parties to the benefit of the country, the society and the sports sector, as well as support and develop sports sector, in order to realize everyone’s potentials.”

Al Rumaithi called upon all leaderships within sports institutions to move forwards to achieve the government’s vision and make more effort to scale up all sports activities.

The MoU was signed by Brigadier Staff Khalifa Rashid Juma’a Al hameli, head of Sports Education Center, Armed Forces and Colonel Mohammed Hamid Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Police Sports Association Secretary General, on behalf of the association.

The MoU organizes cooperation and partnership to exchange technical and administrative expertise in sports, as well as exchange sports information and knowledge, releases and prints. It allows the opportunity to participate in joint committee and teams, together with sports officials, in order to address sports development.

The agreement also urges the two parties to exchange invitations, take part in sports and other specialist events, meetings and conferences, and cooperate in other fields agreed upon by the two parties.

The MoU allows each party to leverage the technical and administrative staff of the other party, in order to organize and manage events and set team preparation plans and programs, for the benefit of sports in the country and to improve performance.

Brigadier Staff Khalifa Rashid Juma’a Al hameli expressing his happiness for signing the MoU and said: “Signing this MoU with the Police Sports Association plays a significant role in serving sports and athletes, and falls under our role in terms of sports. We both have similar social and sports objectives and this cooperation complements the distinguished relations that connect us with our brothers at the Police Sports Association. We are happy to sign this agreement, and the Armed Forces are keen to empower the cooperation and relations with the country’s institutions, for the benefit of all community members, especially athletes.”

Al Dhaheri said: “This MoU reflects the cooperation and fruitful relations among sports community institutions in the country, in order to encourage partnerships between different sectors. This Police Sports Association will implement this agreement to realize the desired objectives, in cooperation with the Armed Forces General Command. We will provide all facilities and capacities necessary to achieve the aspirations of athletes in the country. Athletes, across both police and military sectors, are not only an integral part of the sports ecosystem in the country but rather form the biggest part of it.”

The signing ceremony was attended by Major General Mohammed Saeed Al Marri, Deputy Chairman of the Police Sports Association; Lt. Colonel Rashid Ali Amer Al Ghaithi, Chief of Physical Habilitation Section; Major Saeed Mohammed Saeed Al Shamesi, Chief of Administration and Supply Division at the Armed Forces; and a number of the Police Sports Association.
