(BUSINESS WIRE) -- IHI Corporation (TOKYO:7013)(“IHI”) and Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO:6502)(“Toshiba”) have been selected by Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (“NEDO”) as co-researchers in the “Research and Development (“R&D”) of Ocean Energy Technology - Demonstration Research of Ocean Energy Power Generation”. After concluding the formal contract with NEDO, we will conduct demonstration research of a turbine system driven by the ocean current.

Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, met yesterday Sunday in his office at the ministry HE Yoshihiko Camo, Japan’s Ambassador to the UAE.

Called for teamwork to help the needy and afflicted

Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, called on search and rescue teams in the region to pursue their efforts and work in coordination and team spirit, building on their noble and humanitarian objectives in helping the needy and afflicted all over the world.

Sheikh Saif met with GCC and Arab delegations, as observers in the joint exercise, which was carried out by the UAE search and rescue team and its Saudi counterpart.
