During the GCC Traffic Week

Male and female students at 30 different schools registered with the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) will be sending out awareness messages to their parents, during the events of the 32nd GCC Traffic Week, which is held under the slogan “Your Choice Determines Your Destiny”.
The 2016 GCC Traffic Week organized by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police will commence from March 13-17 in Yas Mall. On the program, a flurry of activities that aim to send out awareness messages via musical and theatrical performances, poem recitations, and theater plays that are inspired by the theme of traffic safety. The key objective of these activities is to motivate male and female students to further develop their creative ideas, so as to contribute to create ‘new perspectives’ to support the current efforts to reduce traffic accidents.
Colonel Jamal Salem Al Ameri, Head of the Public Relations Section at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police said: “The initiative comes in line with the strategic partnership between the directorate and ADEC to promote traffic safety in the educational sector and to establish a high level of traffic culture amongst students as a key part of the general culture.”
Colonel Al Ameri also explained that activating the participation of the educational sector in traffic awareness during the Traffic Week aims to encourage further initiatives that will reinforce the Abu Dhabi Police’s efforts to raise the level of awareness around prevention and applying modern educational concepts and interactive teaching methods to ensure that programs are in accordance with the most advanced international standards in the field of awareness.
