French Business Council Visits DUBIOTECH LABORATORY COMPLEX

The Council’s Healthcare Committee visits Thermo Fisher and Himalaya Labs at DuBiotech

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates. - Tuesday, May 26th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (DuBiotech), a member of TECOM Investments, the free zone business community dedicated to fostering the growth of the life sciences industry in the region, welcomed the French Business Council’s (FBC) Healthcare Committee to its world class laboratory facilities in a bid to share best practice and knowledge within the life sciences sector.

The FBC Healthcare Committee, of which DuBiotech is a founding member, promotes and represents different stakeholders operating in the French healthcare industry in Dubai, providing a platform for information sharing among various sectors, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices and equipment, as well as medical insurance.

Given that France’s healthcare sector employs 200,000 people directly and supports a further 100,000 indirect jobs, there is significant potential for the transfer of knowledge that would occur by encouraging  more French companies, and their world renowned scientists and engineers, to set up in Dubai.

On Monday, the committee, which supports actions taken by the French Embassy, Institut Francais, and other institutions in the biomedical and healthcare domains, visited laboratories in DuBiotech, including Thermo Fisher and Himalaya.

The committee members shared experiences, recent innovations and challenges across the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices and equipment, healthcare & wellness, and services sectors with DuBiotech business partners, creating a platform for networking, collaboration and sharing of best practices.

Marwan Abdulaziz, Executive Director, DuBiotech & EnPark said: “We are delighted to have hosted the FBC’s Healthcare Committee at our facilities in DuBiotech. The opportunity allowed us to showcase our world-class facilities whilst identifying ways in which our business partners can collaborate and share knowledge on the international stage.”

“The National Innovation Strategy represents an important responsibility that all businesses should be working towards. At DuBiotech we aim to facilitate the journey. New experiences and relationships boost creativity and Innovation. This is particularly important for the healthcare sector, where we strive to create new solutions to problems.”
