Development of Police Investigation Process Discussed

Nasser Al Nuaimi: Motivating staff members to put in additional efforts and achieve innovation

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Saturday, May 16th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

During a meeting that was recently held at the Directorate General of Police Operations’ headquarters, the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ discussed means to develop police investigation process at police stations. The meeting stressed the importance of keeping pace with the development that the UAE is witnessing and the keenness to appoint highly qualified staff members according to international best practices.

The meeting was attended by Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Brigadier Omair Al Muhairi, Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police; along with heads of departments, directors general, and officers from police stations.

The Secretary General stressed the importance of commitment to work and dedication with a view to enhance the bright image of the police force and strengthen cooperation with partners according to the highest standards of quality. This comes in line with the vision of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior aimed at keeping pace with development and modernization.

Adding further, Major General Al Nuaimi said: “The comprehensive police station is a fundamental part of police, security, and service work. We are required to improve this crucial role pursuant to the comprehensive development efforts witnessed in the UAE, in order to maintain a leading position,  and to further enhance the concept of distinguished security work.”

Moreover, Major General Al Nuaimi highlighted the importance of taking part in H.H. Minister of Interior’s Awards, in a bid to motivate staff members to put in additional efforts and achieve innovation, as well as to encourage positive competition among them. He also stressed the need to encourage officers and work teams to continue providing innovative ideas and contribute to establish development plans and programs.

For his part, Brigadier Omair Al Muhairi stressed the importance of this meeting, along with the periodic meetings organized by the Directorate General of Police Operations, so as to review the mechanisms of field work; especially the police investigation process, in pursuance of the higher leadership’s directives.

Furthermore, Brigadier Al Muhairi noted that the regular meetings conducted by the police leadership with field work teams reflect a keen interest in encouraging police cadres and staff members to reach their potential for personal and professional development; develop areas of work; and to demonstrate teamwork in order to be role models in the work environment. This would contribute to upgrading police work and support the efforts to spread a sense of security and safety according to the latest practices and development plans and initiatives within the police investigation process.
