BONN, Germany. - Tuesday, November 12th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE) Today, Deutsche Telekom Business Development & Innovation (BDI), has announced that Teleboy, Switzerland’s number one live streaming service, is the first customer of VideoRise, BDI’s recently launched online video platform powered by Saffron Digital.

Teleboy is using VideoRise to launch Teleboy VOD, Switzerland’s first subscription video-on-demand service, available on iPhone, iPad, and the Web with more than 2,500 hours of premium television content from Hollywood’s top studios, as well as content from the BBC.

BDI’s VideoRise is a complete end-to-end platform, which combines all the components necessary to manage and deliver a premium OTT service in one place. It features a one-stop digital rights management (DRM) system and high-quality, secure transmission. VideoRise prepares and catalogues each title for optimum playback on iOS and Web devices. Its content preparation system automates the workflow and can significantly reduce time to market and operational costs. It lets Teleboy easily provide compelling entertainment experiences that increase revenue and build viewer engagement.

Karim Zekri, CEO of Teleboy, says, "Following the huge success of our live streaming service, it was a natural progression for us to introduce VOD content into our offering. Having carried out extensive research on potential technology partners, we chose VideoRise because of the combined experience of Deutsche Telekom and Saffron Digital in delivering world-class solutions.”

"For our wholesale business, we needed a best-in-class video-on-demand service that will support our customers around the world, like Teleboy, with all the challenges they face in an ever-evolving market,” says Karim El-Khazen, Vice President of Business Development and Innovation (BDI) at Deutsche Telekom. "From our extensive experience in serving telco operators and service providers, we know that an end-to-end consultative approach, modularity, and speed of delivery are key to success. Thanks to our partnership with Saffron Digital, our customers can rely on a top solution that delivers on all these dimensions. Additionally, this solution complements our portfolio of solutions that serves OTT, content, and media players in regard to content enabling and content monetization.”
