ADP Central Operations Launches Creativity and Innovation Program

Including Motivational Practices for Personnel and an Innovational Traffic Platform

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Monday, November 23rd 2015 [ME NewsWire]

Along the sidelines of the nationwide UAE Innovation Week, the Directorate General of Central Operations at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters has launched the Creativity and Innovation Program in order to encourage and motivate employees to think creatively and to innovate.

Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, reported that one of the most important initiatives of the Creativity and Innovation Program is the launching of an innovational traffic platform at the Traffic Systems Center. “This platform contributes towards achieving the overall concept of a smart city through implementing smart technologies in a way that enhances traffic systems” he said.

He explained that the program is comprised of two innovative proposals known as the Think Tank and the Excellence Tweets.  The Think Tank consists of a special e-library that is dedicated to gathering the innovative ideas and suggestions that are applied in the Directorate; and the Excellence Tweets include diverse educational messages related to spreading the culture of creativity, innovation, distinction, quality, and strategic planning.

In a bid to further motivate the personnel of the Directorate General of Central Operations in the fields of innovation and creativity, the Creativity and Innovation Program also includes the Director General of Central Operations’ contest for creative practices. The contest aims to highlight the creative practices that are used in departments and to honor the distinguished teams for their best practices.

The program includes an Excellence Lab Forum for the operation rooms. The forum is used to provide the applicable work mechanisms for brainstorming sessions in order to provide creative and innovative ideas. The program also includes a workshop of creativity and innovation in the service of both employees and customers, where they can learn about the ideas and developments in the provision of the Directorate General of Central Operations’ innovative and creative services.

According to Brigadier Eng. Al Harithi, the program includes other practices, such as: ‘The Knight of Proposals’, which is an internal quarterly competition that crowns the most creative thinker; and ‘The Impressions of Excellence’, which is a creative initiative related to detecting the levels of creativity and innovation and the hallmarks of excellence in the department’s services. The practices also include ‘The Leaders’ Board of Colorful Ideas’, which is an interactive installment in the office of the Director General of Central Operations where creative ideas to develop and promote innovative services can be added. An additional internal initiative is used to encourage the creativity of the personnel’s children through an organized gathering for the children that includes a workshop and competition.
