(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:7272)(ISIN:JP3942800008) announced today that for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2018, consolidated net sales of 1,673.1 billion yen were up 0.2% from the previous year. The company saw a decrease in operating income of 9 billion yen (6.0%), while ordinary income dropped 10.9% to 138.0 billion yen, and net income for the period attributable to parent company shareholders was down 8.1% to 93.4 billion yen.

Net sales increased on the back of strong results in the emerging markets motorcycle business, the marine business, and the industrial machinery and robots business.
