Saif bin Zayed Witnesses the Community Protection and Crime Prevention Workshop

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, October 4th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior attended a strategic planning workshop at the Directorate General of Community Protection and Crime Prevention, at the General Secretariat of the Office of His Highness.

In his speech during the workshop, Sheikh Saif said: “We have a shared duty to fight all types of crime, and stand firm against negative behaviors and tendentious rumors aimed at undermining the efforts of the country and its citizens.” His Highness stressed that the UAE government is working tirelessly to reinforce the rule of law and social justice to all members of society.

His Highness Sheikh Saif participated in the discussions of the workshop, and made some observations on the ideas and participations. His Highness gave his directives on the need to continue to serve the UAE and its citizens and residents, and to show the favorable aspect of the services provided to the public.

Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, gave a speech at the workshop. He highlighted the intended goals of the workshop in terms of establishing the strategic approach of the Directorate General of Community Protection and Crime Prevention; the participation of the departments and centers in setting the strategic vision; and setting the strategic objectives and initiatives of the Directorate General.

Major General Al Nuaimi spoke about crime and methods of prevention, as well as the role of proactive prevention. He presented examples of countries that have disregarded prevention in police work, which gave way to serious social and security issues. He emphasized that security and police work are an interoperable and integrated system, and that unifying police concepts falls in line with the priorities and strategic vision of the Ministry of Interior.

He also pointed to the important role played by the Community Police, and Social Support. He noted that the introduction of new departments of Community Protection and Crime Prevention are ongoing approaches to further drive the success achieved in the service of society; especially the family, which is the cornerstone of the community.

For his part, Colonel Mubarak Awadh Mubarak bin Muhairom Al Ameri, Director General of Community Protection and Crime Prevention, commended the directives of His Highness Sheikh Saif to encourage the workshop participants and achieve valuable suggestions and outcomes. In his speech, he also thanked Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, for his participation, and expressed his appreciation for his speech, which shed the light on the aspects and suggestions of the workshop.

Colonel Al Ameri also tackled the nature of work of every department, which includes diligent  work based on the scientific approach and communication with community members and institutions, in order to achieve the strategic  objectives.
