Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior awarded on Sunday at the ministry’s headquarters, the First Class Rescue Medal to Emirati citizen Saeed Mohammed Hamad Al Owaid Al Muhairi. This accolade is in recognition of UAE national Al Muhairi’s courage and his distinguished action, which reflect his positive sense of patriotism.
His Highness Sheikh Saif praised the bravery of the honoree, as well as his dedication and responsible demeanor, which allowed him to rescue a young girl at the Ras Al Khaimah beach. The young girl was suffering a near-drowning experience due extreme fatigue and was being swept away by strong waves. His Highness said: “This noble act of chivalry reflects the nobility of the UAE people, and their dedication to extend a helping hand to anyone who needs it.” Furthermore, Sheikh Saif called for further encouraging this noble and civilized spirit amongst all the sons and daughters of the UAE.
The honoring ceremony was attended by Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and a number of senior officers.
