Saif bin Zayed Attends MoU Signing between “Aqdar” and ADEC

To Unify Awareness-raising Student-oriented Messages

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Saturday, February 13th 2016 [ME NewsWire]

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, recently witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program “Aqdar” and Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC). The MoU aims to activate the National Charter for Students’ Awareness.

According to the MoU, a joint committee will be established between both sides to oversee the implementation of the provisions, and to ensure the adoption of the “National Charter” as an essential reference to unify awareness and prevention messages intended for students and make sure they are used at the different schools affiliated to ADEC.

The signing ceremony took place at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ). The MoU was signed by H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaiaili, Chairman of the Health Authority- Abu Dhabi (HAAD), Acting Director General at the Abu Dhabi Education Council and Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program “Aqdar”.

H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaiaili, (HAAD), and Acting Director General at the Abu Dhabi Education Council, stressed that the education sector enjoys considerable support from the wise leadership. “The leadership constantly dedicated unrelenting follow-up to students, so as to nurture a distinguished generation of leaders, who would contribute to drive the development process forward and maintain the national gains,” he said. Moreover, His Excellency pointed out that the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program “Aqdar” embodies this support, which is in line with the vision to prepare a conscious and well-educated generation.

Additionally, Dr. Al Khaiaili indicated that through the joint cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, ADEC will work to integrate and introduce Khalifa Student Empowerment Program’s topics in schools curriculum, in line with the objectives and policies of the educational curricula. “ADEC will also take part in the organization of various events and activities; and consolidate cooperation and integration mechanisms, in accordance with common goals between the two parties. It will also hold joint periodical meetings to standardize the awareness and guidance content designed for student, and learn about the latest developments and mechanisms to incorporate this content into the educational system,” he said.

For his part, Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi underlined that the MoU focuses on ensuring proactive cooperation and coordination with the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) to promote the Khalifa Program’s events and activities, in order to empower students in different schools and achieve the coveted goals.

Major General Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized that the signing of the MoU represents a quantum leap in the efforts to achieve the coveted goals of the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program “Aqdar”. The objectives include promoting student-related joint institutional work mechanisms; activating common goals towards building the country and good citizenship, and reinforce the nation and society’s defenses against potential challenges, especially those faced by the young generation, who is the backbone of the future, and the real power to sustain and safeguard the country’s national gains.

Major General Dr. Al Nuaimi added: “According to the MoU, the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program ‘Aqdar’ will provide the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) with the executive plan adopted prior to the beginning of the school year. It will also train and qualify ADEC’s coordinators and competent entities and acquaint them with the goals, objectives and work mechanisms of the Khalifa Student Empowerment and the means to put them to good use in accordance with the applicable mechanisms.”

The scientific materials and training content for the implementation of the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program will be designed following approval of the Abu Dhabi Education Council, in addition to participating in the events and activities carried out by ADEC and supporting them by all possible resources. The Council will receive periodic reports to assess the achievement of the objectives and the improvement plans set forth to improve and develop performance to serve the objectives of both sides.

The signing ceremony was attended by Lt. Colonel Dr. Abdulrahman Sharaf, Assistant General Coordinator of Khalifa Student Empowerment Program; Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, ADEC’s Executive Director of School Operations; Nasser Al Junaibi, Director of the Marketing and Events Department; Mourad Al Tlili, Director of the Communications Department at ADEC; and a number of officers from the Ministry of Interior.
