Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department Honors Distinguished Employees, Committees, Work Teams, and Partners

Under the Slogan ‘Because You Are Distinguished’

On Wednesday, Brigadier Hamad Khamis Al Dhaheri, Deputy Head of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department at the Ministry of Interior attended the Annual Forum for honoring distinguished employees, committees, and work teams. The event was organized by the General Directorate of Correctional and Punitive Establishments at Ajman Palace Hotel in Ajman under the slogan ‘Because You Are Distinguished’, in order to recognize their efforts of partners in carrying out their duties in 2015.

In his opening speech, Brigadier Al Dhaheri said: “This Forum falls in line with the general policy of the Ministry of Interior, and the strategy of the General Directorate of Correctional and Punitive Establishments that aims to honor distinguished members who show excellence in their work, and have earned this privilege by being a role model for their colleagues. This honoring stems from our belief in the importance of encouraging staff members to carry out their duties and responsibilities in the most efficient manner.”

He also noted that developing work methods and making achievements according to the institutional excellence standards and efficient participation, contributes to upgrade police work, according to the required excellence standards. Adding further, Brigadier Al Dhaheri said: “The strategic objectives and initiatives implemented by the Ministry of Interior aimed at achieving development usher in a promising future for the Correctional and Punitive Establishments and staff members. All of this would help to achieve the key objective and maintain security and stability of the UAE.”

Brigadier Al Dhaheri also pointed out that the achievements made by the Correctional and Punitive Establishments, were possible thanks to the support of the dedicated internal and external partners. “Their participation had a great impact on seamlessly achieving our objectives,” he said. He also expressed his thanks and appreciation for all partners, and colleagues at the Correctional and Punitive Establishments.

After that, Brigadier Al Dhaheri announced the launch of a competitive initiative titled the “Director General Excellence Shield” across the Correctional and Punitive Establishments on the UAE level.  Terms, conditions, and rules governing this competition will be announced soon.

Towards the end of his speech, Brigadier Al Dhaheri congratulated the honorees, and encouraged them to exert more efforts to serve the UAE under the directives of the higher leadership. He also wished them the best of luck and success.

Brigadier Al Dhaheri and the audience watched a documentary film highlighting the achievements of the Correctional and Punitive Establishments in the UAE. The documentary also shed the light on the variety of programs, activities, and events organized for inmates, in addition to the social and healthcare services provided for them. These activities aim to rehabilitate inmates and integrate them into their communities.

After that, Brigadier Al Dhaheri, accompanied by Yusuf Abdullah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Honoring and Incentives Committee, honored the former General Directors of Correctional and Punitive Establishments, Heads of Department at the General Directorate, Regional Departments, strategic partners, and distinguished employees at the Correctional and Punitive Establishments in the UAE; who have received various awards. On the other hand, Brigadier Al Dhaheri received a commemorative gift from the Forum’s organizing work team.

In addition to that, Brigadier Al Dhaheri, accompanied by a number of directors and officers at the Correctional and Punitive Establishments, inaugurated the exhibition held on the sidelines of the Forum. The exhibition includes the products and traditional handicrafts made by the inmates of the Correctional and Punitive Establishments at the Ministry of Interior.

The forum was attended by Brigadier Ali Mohammed Al Shimali, Director General of Punitive and Correctional Establishments in Dubai; Brigadier Dr. Yusuf  Rashed Al Hamidi, Head of the Policies and Standards Department at the Punitive and Correctional Establishments; in addition to heads of Departments at the Punitive and Correctional Establishments in the UAE. The event was also attended by a large number of officers, representatives of the Ministry of Justice and judicial authorities, and strategic partners of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments at the Ministry of Interior.

The Police Musical Band of the Sharjah Police Science Academy took part in the Forum. The Band performed a number of national and traditional pieces that were highly acclaimed by the audience.
