New Streamlined Connections at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport
ME Newswire  / Business Wire

PARIS - Saturday, April 6th 2013

A minimum time-saving of ten minutes
No more security checks for passengers coming from the Schengen area
    Direct, simplified and streamlined access

Transfer passengers in terminals 2E and 2F can now benefit from new direct, simpler and quicker connection routes to their departure lounges.

"The new Paris-Charles de Gaulle connection routes strengthen the competitive potential of Europe's leading hub. Aéroports de Paris has invested almost 100 million euros in this project. This new structure will allow almost ten thousand passengers, transiting through Paris-Charles de Gaulle daily, to save time and, above all, enjoy a streamlined connection", says Franck Goldnadel, Managing Director of Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.

All transfer passengers in Terminals 2E and 2F (whether or not arriving from a country in the Schengen area) will now follow the new pedestrian paths which lead directly to their new departure gate, without having to venture into the public areas.

Furthermore, passengers arriving from a country in the Schengen area and departing for an international destination will undergo no further security checks. This will result in an estimated average gain of ten minutes on the previous route.

How does it work? Let us take the example of a passenger arriving from Lisbon and departing for Shanghai via Paris-Charles de Gaulle. The passenger goes through the screening checkpoints in Lisbon and arrives at Terminal 2F (Schengen terminal). From Terminal 2F, they take a direct pedestrian route to Terminal 2E (international terminal). It is no longer necessary to pass through the public area and undergo more security checks.

This system marks the final completion of the substantial transformation of the Paris-Charles de Gaulle hub that began in 2012 with opening of Hall M last June, followed by the location of flights operated by Air France and its Skyteam partners in Terminals E and F in October.
