The Creativity and Leadership Development Center at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior assessed 4,134 staff members from the Ministry of Interior and the Abu Dhabi Police during the current year. The assessment included officers and constables, and was intended to measure their competencies, skills and leadership and basic capabilities.
Commenting on Centre’s work, Major Dr. Omar Ibrahim Al Ali, Director of the Leadership Development Center, pointed out that it includes participation in developing the appropriate mechanisms for nurturing future leaders at the Ministry of the Interior; and boosting their skills in exceptional ways. “As a part of its tasks, the center carries out regular assessment to measure the competencies of staff members with the aim of establishing the appropriate development programs. It also supervises the preparation of future leaders, and develops policies and methodologies to identify distinguished competencies” he added.
Additionally, Major Al Ali hailed the unwavering and continuous support of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in order to promote the goals of the Leadership Development Center. “The vigorous follow-up of his Highness to the Center’s work represents an impetus and incentive for the Centre's management and staff members towards doubling their sincere effort, and exerting further giving so as to achieve the vision of the police leadership, and maintain the prominent stature of the Ministry of Interior,” noted Major Al Ali. Moreover, he stressed the keenness of the Ministry to nurture future leaders and promote the distinguished competencies that enhance development efforts and keep abreast of the latest developments.
On the same note, the Director of the Leadership Development Center reiterated the Center’s commitment to continue to implement purposeful quality programs. He said: “Such programs contribute to boost police performance; maintain excellence in the delivery of services to customers; improve staff members’ performance indicators; and develop exceptional leaders who are eager to improve potentials, lead the development approach in police work, and keep abreast of the overall progress in various areas of policing.
Major Al Ali also indicated that the Center strives to achieve the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Interior, implement institutional excellence, and nurture and develop staff members in an exceptional way, as well as individuals with outstanding creative skills. “As a part of its goals, the center also strives to create an innovative, competitive and forward-looking environment conducive to progress and innovation, keeping abreast of the distinguished updates, which promote leadership, boost services develop exceptional leaders and maintain gains of the Ministry of Interior,” he concluded.
