MoI Explores the Future of the Business Sector at the ‘Economic Sustainability Forums’ 2016

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, May 10th 2016 [ME NewsWire]

Under the patronage of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, preparations have commenced for the third consecutive year, for the Economic Sustainability Forums 2016. The participating security zones are represented by the Police, Civil Defense and the Naturalization and Residency leaderships of the various emirates.

The forums aim to strengthen the partnership and integrated cooperation between the services provided by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the UAE business community. This partnership further reinforces the country’s competitive position, making it a secure and attractive environment for business and investments – a status that falls in line with the objectives of UAE’s Vision 2021.

Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, pointed out that the forums provide insights into the future of business in the UAE and also enhance the competitiveness of the country internationally. “They also meet the aspirations of the business sector regarding the nature of services provided by the MoI. This directly relates to streamlining business operations, whether for small businesses, medium or large enterprises,” he added.

The Major General also made the point that the forums introduce channels for the distinguished services provided by the MoI, as well as the innovative methodologies and mechanisms pursued by the Ministry to achieve developmental sustainability in its various services. “These forums are an opportunity for direct communication between the police leadership and the business sector. We are completely transparent in determining and understanding their suggestions, as well as the challenges facing the Sector, with view to ultimately achieving sustainable development,” said Al Nuaimi.

The UAE scored highly in the Global Competitiveness Report issued by the World Economic Forum in Geneva and was shown to be a global forerunner in terms of its low crime and violence rates, and its low impact on the cost of business. The UAE also ranked second in the world for the low prevalence of organized crime. These results are considered a natural outcome of the ongoing and tireless efforts exerted by the MoI to achieve the sustainable development of their skills and services.
