MoI All Decked Out for the UAE’s 44th National Day

On the occasion of the UAE’s 44th National Day, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the departments affiliated to the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) have continued their celebrations to mark the triumphant journey of the Union.

The buildings of the MoI, the GHQ, and the police departments were all adorned with full decoration, with the Abu Dhabi Police patrols also operating on the roads looking their best.

For the celebratory occasion and as an embodiment of loyalty towards the nation, the Directorate General of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police organized a festivity for the children of the police staff members; where they released 44 balloons carrying the colors of the UAE flag.

The celebration included a number of entertainment activities; with participating children expressing their joy for the UAE National Day that is dear to their hearts. The children noted that the 44th National Day is a celebration for all, as it symbolizes many precious meanings, values and memories.

The celebration at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters was attended by Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary of Resources and Support Services at the Ministry of Interior; Brigadier Obeid Salem Rashid Ali Al Ketbi, Director General of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police; a number of directors of departments; officers and workers in Abu Dhabi Police; families of the staff members, and representatives of strategic partners.

The children and the kids of the Abu Dhabi Police staff members participated in the activity where 44 balloons were launched in the colors of the UAE flag; commending the efforts of the ADP for offering such a significant initiative. They praised the Abu Dhabi Police’s efforts towards this upscale initiative by including them in this precious occasion that holds the legacy of the founding fathers following the establishment of the UAE’s Union.

The celebration was inaugurated with the national anthem, and was followed by Captain Mohamed Al Harithi from the Human Resources Planning Department, who read a poem entitled “Rouh Al Watan” (meaning ‘spirit of the nation’ in English). In the poem, he praised the achievements of the Union, the consolidation and support of the Union in the building of the country, and the achievements made in the advancement and stability throughout the years, which transformed the Union into an example and model to imitate.

Establishing the concepts of love, leadership, loyalty and affiliation for this country; the celebration included a poem about the nation’s martyrs presented by child poet Mariam Massaad Al Ameri (from ‘Million’s Poet’ for kids). The celebration included a number of events such as the participation of the Abu Dhabi Police Music Band, a number of traditional Emirati arts on display, and the national songs and chants. It also included questions and answer competitions with awards distributed by the child Rawda Jassem Al Hosani.

The Officers Training Institute affiliated to the Directorate General of Human Resources in the Ministry of Interior also carried out celebrations in the Omar bin Al Khattab Hall at the Police College. The celebrations were held in the presence of Brigadier Mohamed Obaid Al Dhaheri, Director General of Human Resources at the Ministry of Interior;  Colonel Khaled Abdullah Al Khouri, Police College Deputy Director; directors of departments, heads of sections, and a number of associate officers in training courses held at the Officers Training Institute.

The celebration was inaugurated with the national anthem that was played by the Abu Dhabi Police Music Band. The audience then watched a movie entitled ‘Long Live our UAE’ that explained the history of the UAE before the Union, and the development and advancement witnessed by the country in different fields within the framework of the Union. Policeman Mohamed Al Jaberi also delivered a poem in this event entitled ‘Pride of Zayed’s Sons’. A cultural competition was also carried out amongst the participants of the Preliminary and Intermediate Leadership courses.

The General Directorate of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Clubs Department, presented a 44th National Day Operetta, at the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi, in the

presence of Brigadier Saeed Saif Al Nuaimi, Head of the Procurement and Warehouses Department at the General Directorate of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Mansoor Ahmed Al Hashemi, Acting Head of Clubs Department at the General Directorate of Finance and Services; Sultan Al Shehhi, Project Director of Grace Conservation Project at the Red Crescent Authority, and a number of police officers and Abu Dhabi Police staff members.

Brigadier Al Nuaimi asserted that the Commemoration Day deserves to be an occasion to stand by with pride and honor, in memory of the sacrifices of the martyrs who died in defense of truth, justice, and the Arab nation; and in memory of their honorable acts that were for the sake of elevating the nation.

He said that the Commemoration Day is an appropriate occasion to remember the dedication and the devotion, loyalty, and values of belonging that is deeply rooted in the hearts the of Emiratis; as exemplified by the martyrs, and of whom everyone feels great pride towards.

The audience watched a documentary film displaying the biography of the late founder of the nation, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan -may he rest in peace- entitled "Zayed, the Symbol of Excellence" as well as historical photographs during the announcement of the federation of the United Arab.

Another film reviewed the achievement history of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE – may God protect him- entitled "Khalifa at the Time of Excellence". Moreover, poet Ayman Al Ababneh of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality delivered a poem praising the achievements history of the nation. The Abu Dhabi Al Ikhlas Private School participated in showing the text of the national operetta, where 25 students from the girls section prepared a presentation entitled "Homeland Soldiers", wearing the uniforms of the armed forces, an image expressing the role of homeland protectors and their efforts made to defend the country.

Six students from the school presented the traditional Al Youla dance that expresses the honor of the UAE heritage handed down from one generation to another with care and pride. Such dance is related to the festive traditions, marriage ceremonies and national events of the hospitable Emirati people. The performance was followed by a dance of Gulf heritage performed by 11 female students from the Al Ikhlas Private School.

The Al Ain Police Directorate also organized events on that day; attended by a number of police authorities of the Directorate.

Colonel Mohammed Suhail Rashidi, Director of the Al Ain Police Directorate, stressed that the celebration of the 44th National Day of the United Arab Emirates strengthens the community members’ spirit of loyalty to the leadership and the country, and instills the love of homeland and belonging to this generous country. He pointed out that the achievements and developments experienced by the UAE, as well the creations in various fields, placed the UAE amongst the ranks of leading countries.
