Distinguished Emirati Woman Conference to be Organized Periodically

Upon the Instructions of Saif bin Zayed

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, April 6th 2016 [ME NewsWire]

Major General Dr. Abdul Quddous Abdul Al Obaidly, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for the Quality and Excellence Affairs and Chairman of the Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA), announced that based on the recommendations of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Distinguished Emirati Woman Conference will be held biennially.

He said: “The first edition of the Emirati Woman Conference was highly acclaimed and witnessed significant success. The conference, organized under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and Chairwoman of Motherhood, Childhood Supreme Council; was held under the slogan ‘Emirati Woman Conference: Distinction and Innovation 2016’.” He also noted that the conference yielded purposeful outcomes that are well aligned with the strategic objectives of the Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA), notably spreading the culture of excellence pertaining to the intellectual property that target women in particular.

These remarks were made by Major General Dr. Al Obaidly in his speech during a ceremony held at the Abu Dhabi Police Officers Club to honor a number of organizers and collaborators. Major General Dr. Al Obaidly emphasized that this accolade has become a policy consistently pursued by the Ministry of Interior in recognition of the efforts exerted by collaborators during events and conferences. “The policy also aims to encourage all parties who contributed to the success of the first Emirati Woman Conference,” he said.

The Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA), in cooperation with 999 Magazine, the media partner of the event, honored the partners who contributed to the success of the Emirati Woman Conference events. The first edition of the Conference took place in March, and was organized by the Ministry of Interior, the General Women's Union, and the Emirates Intellectual Property Association.

Lt. Colonel Awadh Saleh Al Kendi, Editor-in-Chief of 999 Magazine, emphasized the Magazine’s pride with its media partnership with the conference, which contributed to reflect an honorable image that suits its position. In conclusion, he expressed his wishes for a lasting relation in the future.

The ceremony, hosted in recognition of organizers and collaborators who participated in the first Emirati woman conference was attended by organizing media partners, representatives of the conference organizers, and a number of supporting firms. A documentary film was shown during the ceremony, showcasing the Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA) history and strategic goals.
