The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Umm Al Quwain Police General Headquarters managed to arrest two individuals in two separate cases for impersonating CID members to carry out thefts.

In the first case, the police arrested a GCC national charged with multiple counts of house thefts and police impersonation.

Elaborating on the details of the case, the police said that they received multiple complaints from people complaining that a man wearing the national costume approached them and stole their belongings, after claiming to be a police officer. The suspect would enter the houses, under the pretext of conducting a warranted search; ultimately steal the wallets of home owners and fleeing the scene.
